Fisher, Terry L.
(nee Oliver) Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 2, 2019 at the age of 69 years. Beloved mom of Angela Muller, Heidi (Stephanie) Stringer and Marty Fisher (Peter Fiumefreddo). Loving grandmother of Jordan (Adriana), Vincent, Gianna, Elijah and Izabella. Dear great-grandmother of Camilla. Sister of Richard, Flora and the late Billy. Further loved by her godson Alex, nieces Tanya and Dina, nephew Jamie, her late brother-in-law Mike and many other relatives and friends.
Terry was from Rockford Illinois and attended Rockford East High School, graduating in 1967. She then attended beauty school and started her lifelong career as a hair stylist. Out of two marriages she was given three beautiful girls (Angela, Heidi and Marty). Those who knew her would know that Mom loved her cats. It was never enough to have just one two, she needed at least three for it to feel like a full house. She loved the Chicago Bears and football in general. We spent many an afternoon watching the game, even during her final months. She loved music; John Cougar Mellencamp was her favorite in particular. She took her girls to concerts at Summerfest every summer throughout the years! Terry also frequented the neighborhood church festivals and danced under the tents to local live music, while enjoying just one Miller Lite. Another favorite for Terry was taking road trips. Although she never flew in a plane, she went everywhere she could in a car. She was one of the last folks to use an “AAA TripTik”. The family took various road trips together…such as campgrounds, water parks in the Dells, driving to the Rocky’s, the Ozarks, the Grand Canyon, New Orleans, Niagara Falls, Las Vegas, and the list goes on. Even though we were far from “rich”, our mom always worked hard and saved up her money to give us different experiences in turn she gave us a rich life.
Terry was a very simple and sweet woman, who enjoyed the simple things in life. She worked very hard all of her days to make sure the family had a good life. She wanted “little pink houses” for everyone. She had worked in a few beauty shops along the way like “Harvey's” and “Katarina’s”. More recently Terry worked for “Salon East” with her wonderful friends Cathy (partner in crime), Roger, Jeannie, and Diane. She loved all of the people she worked with a lot. She cherished all of “her little old ladies” that she would do hair for, as she would call them. She also worked as a “Call Center Rep.” for Wells Fargo earning many employee commendations and made many friends which she loved dearly as well.
Of course, Terry loved her children and all of her grandchildren. She was extremely proud of them all, making their own way in life.
Visitation at the Funeral Home on Friday, February 15 from 4 PM until time of Funeral Service at 7 PM.
Terry was loved and cherished by all who knew her.
